Current Projects

Legacy Foresight produces a range of research and forecasting projects, including:

Legacy Monitor

Legacy Monitor is a new programme developed in collaboration with Clearwater Consulting. It incorporates an annual ‘audit’ of trends in the legacy market, and a quarterly benchmarking service. The initial idea for the service was raised by a group of our charity clients, including Guide Dogs, Cancer Research UK and PDSA. The programme has been set up initially for 2008, but is intended thereafter to be an annual service. We hope to introduce a more flexible menu of options and prices in future years, allowing clients to subscribe to specific elements of the service. Legacy Forecasting

Our legacy forecasting service offers five year projections of income and notifications, based on charities' own legacy history. To produce these forecasts, all we need is your income and notifications data, broken down by type of bequest. For more information, contact c.farmelo@legacyforesight.co.uk

We also work with individual or groups of charities to predict long term legacy income. These forecasts incorporate a wide range of economic, social, demographic and regulatory factors, combined to form a series of future scenarios. By projecting the likely market share of each client, we can produce best and worst-case income forecasts in both real and current prices. For more details, contact m.abdy@legacyforesight.co.uk

Legacy Research

In 2007, a new project was launched, Living Forever : Baby Boomers and Posterity. The project examines the core 'baby boomer' generation (born 1946 - 1957), and how it compares to those who have gone before, in terms of their circumstances, attitudes and behaviour. The project was supported by a consortium of 28 charities, and was completed in July 2007.

New research ideas are being developed for 2009, including: the Scottish legacy market, the 'donor diaspora', shadow boomers and major donors. For more information on any of these proposals, please contact m.abdy@legacyforesight.co.uk.
