Clear are the creators and developers of FirstClass, the UK's leading legacy management system. FirstClass is used by over fifty major national charities. Since FirstClass was first designed by a group of leading charities in 1991, it has been continually upgraded to meet the developing requirements of legacy management and the latest innovations in computer technology. They also offer FirstClass Express, a web-based version of FirstClass, which is used by a growing number of smaller charities.
Clear and Legacy Foresight work together on the main Legacy Monitor programme. FirstClass clients' data is automatically extracted and formatted for the Legacy Monitor programme, saving time and ensuring accuracy.
Building on the Legacy Monitor experience, Clear and Legacy Foresight have set up a new joint venture: Clear Foresight, combining our skills in data analysis and software development to creat the next level of legacy intelligence. We aim to transform the way that legacy information is captured, analysed and presented. Clear Foresight will enable legacy managers to carry out complex data analysis and to visualise trends in intuitive ways. The service will draw together the latest information from a range of different sources, allowing users to see the bigger picture.
With 500 members, representing 300 charities, ILM is the foremost provider of information and training on legacy administration, relied upon by the charity sector to ensure that the £2 billion of legacy gifts received each year is managed in accordance with donors’ wishes and in compliance with the Law. ILM also works with bodies including the Law Society, the Charity Commission and the Law Commission to ensure that the legal environment supports and promotes charity legacy giving.
Gifts left in wills are the foundation for many charities in the UK. Without them they would struggle to survive. Remember A Charity was formed in 2000 and now has over 140 member charities. Their collective aim is to do what no single charity has been able to achieve on its own - to encourage more people to leave a gift to charities in their will, after they've looked after their family and friends, so that it becomes the norm for the many rather than just the few.
Legacy Foresight and Remember A Charity are strategic partners, working on a range of awareness raising initiatives, including the annual Legacy Market Review. To order a copy of the latest edition, click here.
Arts Quarter (AQ) was founded in January 2008 in direct response to calls for an effective agency to develop skills, practices and models within the UK cultural sector in the light of profound changes in public and private sector funding for the arts. Through their client work, they have active relationships with around 50 arts organisations of all scales, art forms and regions of the UK. Beyond this, they dialogue with over 450 arts organisations, government agencies and departments, policy formers and the media through their advocacy and research work. AQ has rapidly established a reputation across the English-speaking world as the 'UK's leading cultural sector think-tank'. Through all of their activities, they seek to challenge conventional thinking within the cultural sector, stimulate discussion, create new ways of working and provide opportunities for learning and professional development.
